This necklace is a lot shorter than 17 inches. I tried the necklace and I felt like I was wearing a dog collar. This will be a return.

I absolutely love this shell necklace. Yes it is weighty and well made with a substantial clasp and extender chain. The quality is outstanding and I enjoy receiving compliments every time I wear it. Studio Barse jewelry is of a very high standard with a reasonable price range. This piece is truly one of my all time favorites that is casual and flirty. I also ordered the matching earrings making the set complete. Love,Love,Love the entire natural look. Thank you for a gorgeously magnificent ensemble.

I couldn't wait to receive this necklace and was excited when it arrived. The excitement went away when I tried it on and it was so heavy it actually hurt my neck.. I ended up returning it because when I wore it on two different occasions I couldn't keep it on due to the weight on my neck. This is the only reason I returned it. The necklace was very fashionable and the color was beautiful. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the heaviness.

I for one am very glad that Studio Barse makes some pieces in shorter lengths that are comfortable and becoming for petite women. The colors are subtle and beautiful, and the length is very flattering and comfortable for me.
