I agree with the previous reviews that the 18K gold does not show up. In fact when I got it and tried it on I totally forgot it had the gold on it until I read previous reviews. To me it is still worth the price for a substantial size amethyst in the richer color purple that I prefer. I sized up from a size 6 to a 7 because that was all that was left. It fits a little large but not enough to return it. I may need the extra room in the summer. It is a beautiful ring.

The ring I received has a beautiful, dark African amethyst which matches another Royal Bali amethyst ring I purchased last year. But I am SO tired of checkerboard faceting! How about a bit more diversity in HSN cuts? I know checkerboard can liven up mediocre stones, but I don't think Royal Bali's amethysts are mediocre. Nevertheless, a beautiful, medium-sized ring. This is not a big ring; rather petite for me, actually. I do think that the side 18K accent beading (here and on all RB jewelry) virtually disappears and therefore serves only to jack up the price on what should otherwise be a $60-$70 ring. (Arrived without a hang tag or mini pamphlet.)

The ring overall is much smaller than I expected. The amethyst stone is also very, very dark. I don't think anyone will think it's a DY ring ... but it's OK. I'm not in love with this one, but it would be a nice ring if you like something a bit smaller in scale. Sorry ... just didn't WOW me the way I was expecting it to.

Since I had to go on wait list, I waited about three weeks for this special ring to arrive. Well, this surely was well worth the wait. It is everything I had hoped for and more...beautiful stone,
exquisite mounting...eat your heart out D.Y. this ring is just as spectacular as yours and at a much more affordable price!! This is my first Royal Bali piece but definitely not my last!

MAYBE IT WAS BAD LUCK BUT THE FIRST DAY I WORE THIS AMAZING RING ONE OF THE GOLD COVERED CORNER BEADS PEELED OFF! THE PURPLE IS SO DEEP IT SEEMS UNREAL! I WILL REORDER BUT WITH THE INSURANCE PLAN OFFERED. STUNNUNG SILLVERWORK!
