Why upgrade?
I think I got the ring jazzchick got. The stone had a crack the width of the stone, through the middle and visible to the naked eye. I don't understand why HSN does not take flawed or damaged product out of circulation or better yet a little QA in action to keep customers from receiving obviously flawed or damaged purchases in the first place. Back this one goes.
This setting is cheap--thought the brushed gold would be nice but it was disappointing. Wasn't crazy about the stone eithercertainly not worth the price. Sent it back.
The concept of the ring's design is very nice however the execution is not. I oftentimes like to buy gemstones for their value as heirlooms, (as I did with this ring). I've heard Carol say she reads reviews and I sincerely hope she reads this one. This I can say: my stone has a visible crack across it's entire width and other major inclusions. As amethyst's are not considered rare gems, for $70 you think you would receive at least a flawless stone. Though it fits perfectly, the inside of the ring is quite rough on the edges and scraped my knuckle when I slid it on and off. The ring also arrived stuffed into a plastic bag inside of a box. !! For this quality and presentation I may have paid $29.90 but not for what was asked. This was my first Rarities purchase and, from reading other negative reviews on Rarities pieces, it will probably be my last - unless of course there is a major reduction in price, and a major improvement in workmanship and presentation.
