Why upgrade?
I really like this ring. I would have liked it even better had the accent diamonds been a higher grade - they do not look clear and bright.
The ruby is translucent and a good color.
My Mom has this beautiful ruby heart enhancer this ring would have complimented very well and I was so excited to see it back in stock. Then, I opened the box to find a tiny, brown colored stone in place of where this fabulous, red ruby in the photo should have been! I also read the ruby is "fissure filled" thus making it a cheap stone. If it is so cheap, why is HSN advertising it with an appraised value of $500? Is this false? If so, not legal to do to customers. UPSET!
I would not have thought in a million years to own this amazing estate-looking, big ruby center stone ring, at this price point. Knowing ruby like diamonds have all those levels one to consider, and I know it is not possible to get this one home for such a low price tag with some inclusions. It does have some inclusions, but not bad, no specks inside. I am really really stoked to get this ring home at this price for an amazing design. Thanks Carol.
The ring arrived with a black scratch/nick on top. This is a glass filled ruby, a non permanent process according to HSN. But still the ruby was very heavily included - visible to the naked eye. It also had a brownish coloring. The diamonds had more sparkle and are of larger size than the matching earrings yet still very small and almost unnoticeable. The prongs on the ring are smaller & more elegant compared to the prongs on the earrings. In sum, it is pretty from a distance but not up close.
