This ring is way overpriced, in my opinion. I own lots of Nicky rings and really love almost all of his jewelry. I am also a lapis fanatic. I was, unfortunately, very disappointed by this ring. The dull lapis was small and poorly faceted (I think lapis should only be in cabochon anyway) with too much gray in the stone. The silverwork was also very light for a Nicky ring. This is a $30 ring, I think.

Beautiful, Egyptian-esque simplicty. Others don't seem to realize finest lapis lazuli is deep blue, with NO GOLD FLECKS. They're pyrite-fool's gold-considered flaws by jewelers.
Rub a drop of baby oil on it and then shine a flashlight-you will see the heavenly color.
I like this ring, wear it without fear a glued-in stone will fall out; worn it washing dishes,etc-the color has not faded, nor has the stone moved.
The bezel-work is get a bit sloppy and uneven.

Reading all the bad reviews, I was prepared to return it before even seeing it. I only took the chance because the nice lapis rings for men are hard to find! The ring I recieved is very close to the one pictured. I do agree that the stone could have been better polished, but its evident in the picture that the surface isn't that smooth. I think most people are disappointed only because deep blue lapis only looks bright under intense lighting. All in all, one of my favorite lapis rings I own!

Disappointed - not as represented in the on air presentation; and on the internet. The stone looks like plastic - dark,cheap looking and where are the gold flecks? - the sterling was pitted on the sides - was so looking forward to this modern east/west design - seems Mr. Butler is cutting corners - or QA is asleep at the wheel or both - at any point - don't waste your money - what is happening to the QA at HSN?

I am a huge Nicky Butler wearer and collector. this ring is such a disappointment. The stone is bad in comparison to the other Lapis I have from Nicky, size is way too small and the silver work is shoddy. I have never had this experience in all the years I have purchased these pieces (since Nicky started selling on HSN). I have many submitted glowing reviews and this is the first bad one I have ever had to write for my favorite designer.
