Wear one of Earth's simple treasures with these Maanshan Turquoise
Sterling Silver Earrings. The centerpieces of these
earrings are bezel-set, round stabilized Maanshan turquoise
cabochons (approx. 10mm). The stones are surrounded by oxidized
metalwork borders with beaded details. Clutchbacks keep them securely fastened
and the polished finish provides a soft glow.
About stabilized turquoise... Moisture, skin oils and environmental factors can change the color of turquoise jewelry if left untreated. But stabilizing turquoise helps preserve the stone's normal color. Natural, mined turquoise nuggets are heated at a very low temperature for about a week, slowly drawing out moisture without damaging the texture. The stones are then placed into acrylic or polymer chemicals to replace water molecules. This stabilizes the stone and keeps its beauty and value intact.

I''m assuming the price is due to the amount of time it took some poor person to construct such a tiny earring...because it certainly isn''t reflective of the amount of turquoise here! These are literally about the size of a dime. I haven''t decided if I''m going to keep or return them yet. A+++ for workmanship but D- for presentation on these.

Most of Jay King''s earrings are too big for me, these are perfect, very comfortable, workmanship is amazing, silver is heavy and flawless and the turquoise stones represent every color of turquoise. I think everything about these earrings is first class and more like the Jay King in the beginning.... If you are a petite person take a look at these.
