The amethyst color was flat and just "off." I've ordered Jay's opaque amethysts before and the color was beautiful and was hoping these would go nicely with what I have. Just didn't work.

These earrings are lovely in style and size. HOWEVER, I have to agree with others that the amethysts showed almost black. I've got a feeling that had Jay set the amethysts with an opening in the silver backing, light could have gotten through to the stones and made them pop.

The color of the stone is too dark; looks almost black. I am so disappointed because the style is stunning on the ear, but I wanted an amethyst earring. I agree with what others said in that the back of the earring should have been left open; not quite sure why all the silver behind the stone, doesn't quite make sense. The stones on mine are also very cloudy and there is virtually no sparkle; they don't look anything like the ones shown on TV. Sadly these are going back.

Although the setting is very nice, the stones are almost black and have white marks. I sadly sent the earrings and matching pendant back.
