Because the back of the stone comes to a point, it doesn't lay flat and looks like it's pointing east or west. It went back.

This necklace is so lovely and has an understated elegance about it. I love that the design is simple but it still commands attention. My pearl has a nice luster that picks up many different colors, and has a nice weight to it. The prasiolite is a perfect match for the pearl and adds to the overall design without taking the focus off of the pearl. I know I will wear this necklace a lot and I look forward to trying some of the other color pearls.

This is a beautiful pendant, I replaced the SS chain with white gold chain, due to allergy of silver around my neck. The pearl had 3 insignificant pits in it, and prasiolite was pale, not as brilliant in color of a ring I have, but still love, love it and am wearing now for the first time, the pendant has significant weight to it.
