I looked at both of these rings. The moonstone, while large, wasn't as nice as a similar ring HG sold in 2008 that had cutout shoulders. The chalcedony was very nice but, unfortunately, I thought these rings were uncomfortable (in my size 8 anyway). Something was just too wide, either the shoulders or the shank. But the clincher for me was that I just didn't think these rings felt worth $141 with shipping and tax.

I've seen the very best high quality moonstone in boutique shops, but the price was $1200.00 for about 6ctw. stone. The ring I rec'd was opaque & not clear, but has color thru-out...,the color play is green, blue, purple...I wanted more color, so I ordered another to see the difference, my 2nd. one arrived clearer in color, but had less play of color...it was monotoned with strictly perwinkle hues only. I decided to keep the 1st one I ordered because it has more color schemes, but you really have to move your hand in a certain way to see glimpses of these colors, but overall the setting is fantastic, love the knuckle size ring & the moonstone I have has colors of an opal ring, but not of very high quality color. I can't part with this ring because I do know the value of higher quality, and this ring is a great value for what you are receiving. Thanks Colleen and keep bringing in moonstone with remarkable settings. This ring is one of my favorites.

For all of us who love moonstone, I just want to cry. I have decided that being the first to order jewelry for (size, price, and or special deal) may also put me in the position of being the first to return it. Good glory! The stone in this ring is half clear!. Like an idiot I sat there and shook the ring thinking I could make the opaque move to cover to the entire ring. Don't laugh because I am returning this ring size 9, and I am sure it on it way to the next moonie.

I ORDERED THIS RING IN THE CALCEDONY , AND THE STONE I RECEIVED IS BEAUTIFUL, THE COLOR IS A VERY SOFT PERIWINKLE, THE ONLY SLIGHT ISSUE I HAVE IS THE SILVER IS VERY SHINEY, I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE ALITTLE ANTIQUED...THIS IS A VERY WELL MADE AND HEAVY RING I LOVE IT......

I ordered several of these to ensure getting one in my size before they all sold out. Returned one chalcedony with an unattractive dark flaw in the stone at one end. Returned two moonstones because one was cloudy with no color to speak of, and the other one, although it had some color, still did not measure up to the cost of the ring. But I did end up keeping one chalcedony with a beautiful translucent pale bluish lavender color throughout. Also, the chalcedony shows up better against the polished silver than the moonstones do -- they probably need some antiquing in the setting to frame them. I do like the basic silver setting design and the very comfortable fit, especially for a long ring.
