This just didn't have the play of light and color that I was anticipating. It was just too dark of tone. In the picture, the colors are far more vibrant and bright.

This is a very special necklace. The mix of colors is very well done, soft and soothing, like a rainbow peeking out of a rainy day. The addition of the many sterling beads, Sleeping Beauty turquoise, and the onyx adds a quiet elegance. I find the bead size to be just right. I love large beads, but in the rainbow calsilica huge beads could look cartoonish. The fact that the necklace was crafted by Native Americans adds a dimension to the "feel" of the piece. Artisan crafted jewelry conveys comfort to me when I think of the person who put his/her special touch to the piece. As for the Rainbow Calsilica, I believe it is a composite of various natural colored stone material, blended w/a binder--still natural material, and still very beautiful. Either way, it's nice to wear a rainbow around my neck!

I just received this necklace today......It is very nicely made and it has great subtle colors. If the casilica is fake, I don't care. This necklace will go with a white shirt and jeans and also can be worn with a more formal outfit. I have been eyeing this necklace for a very long time and I am glad I finally just went ahead and ordered it. I have a Jay King Casilica ring that will look great with this. I just need some earrings. Hint, Hint!!!! Very vivid colors and made very well.

We were stationed in New Mexico for 2 years while my husband was in the Air Force. We have been "homesick" ever since we left. This is my piece of New Mexico, the Southwest, the dessert and the mountains. This is the extraordinary sunset and all the colors of the Southwest in pure simplicity. Thank you!!

The rainbow calsilica stones do not shine like others, they have a dull finish like sculpey clay. However, the other stones in the necklace are beautiful and I love the jewelry designer's arrangement of them. If rainbow calsilica turns out to be the Milli Vanilli of gemstones, they could be a collector's item.

Stabilized rainbow casilica beads(approx. 7x4mm and 12x10mm) drop from a stacked arrangement of dyed and stabilized onyx (approx. 4x2mm), stabilized Sleeping Beauty turquoise (approx. 4x3mm) and polished sterling silver rondelles.

Moisture, skin oils and environmental factors can change the color of turquoise jewelry if left untreated. But stabilizing turquoise helps preserve the stone's normal color.
