The silver surrounds this cameo just as the gold usually does.. the pearls really add a lot, too. Yes, they are freshwater pearls so are not absolutely perfect but are a beautiful color and the cost is not prohibitive. This is a really substantial size and I love that it is in silver as not everyone likes gold.

I have been looking for a cameo ringed by pearls for years. This is a beautiful piece. It is pricey but it is large and the pearls are freshwater---not cultured (which accounts for the natural blemishes. The setting is substantial and if it were not sivler--would cost 3 or 4 times this price. I have a large cameo collection--several Amadeo pieces--this is a needed addition to my collection. Pearls are of the poorest quality I''ve ever seen. The setting is shoddy and flimsy at best with the pin hardly even functional. A complete waste of time and money. The cameo itself shows poor polishing with carving streaks showing. No piece of silver I have ever purchased has felt as cheap as this. I''m sorely disappointed and ceratinly sending it back.

I am very disappointed in the quality of the pearls. Quite a few of the ones on the cameo I received have very obvious what I will call "stripes" in them. I did a zoom in of the photo online and you can see what I mean in a few of the pearls at the top - mine are all over spoiling an otherwise beautiful piece. I am still deciding whether to return this. For the price I would have expected more quality control.

The cameo is nice&the 925&pearls are horrible.The 925 is flimsy&the pearls are poor quality.The one I got had chunks missing out of the pearls&they spin around.The bail is floppy&isn''t like the gold ones.They should have charged more&put the cameo in gold.Mine is going back :( It would be nice if they say "STERLING"&mm sizeon screen on TV when you have the show on.I can''t believe they wasted such a pretty cameo in this setting.If they put this one in gold.I would buy it back that way.
