Pitted & Pitiful!

I couldn''t resist ordering this strand when I read the 2 positive reviews. Even with the negative review, I figured I''d take a chance, hoping I''d get a nice strand. I think I received the one that the negative reviewer returned. The pearls were dull, pitted, and off-round doesn''t even begin to describe the irregular shape! Try flattened disks! The almost $1,000 price tag is a crime for such inferior merchandise. The pearls arrived today, and they''re going back tomorrow.

This strand of pearl can almost compete with the $20K South Sea pearl strands because of its size. It is very rare to see this size in cultured pearls. The luster is beautiful.

i saw these pearls on t.v. and had to order them. i have many sets of pearls. when i recieved these at home i was thrilled. they are absolutly fabulous. color is so white, size is great, shape was also wonderful. i purchased a strand from a jewerly store not as nice and they cost me more than 5,000 dollars. trust me if you get them home. they will be home to stay.

I received the pearls today (8/31/05) and I have to say that I am extremely disappointed. I ordered another strand of pearls (Item No. 248-044, graduated pearls for $449.95)and was very impressed. Based on the quality of those pearls, I ordered these. I know nothing about grading pearls, but I have to say that the other strand is much prettier than these. This strand of pearls is very white and the pearls are oval and elongated looking, not pretty at all. Some of these pearls have large gashes in them and they appear smaller than the graduated strand. I will keep the other strand but these pearls have to go back. I don't understand how these made it thru Quality Assurance. No one would pay $900+/- for these pearls. I can only assume that I got one of the inferior strands since the others I received are so beautiful.
